Our Mission
USC’s Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) works with its members to enhance their experience as students at the University of Southern California. IISE strives to bring its members opportunities which provide them with valuable experiences, skills, and a familiarity with industrial Engineering and related professions. As IISE members, USC students will have yet another way to meet others with similar interests, some of whom will become lifelong friends.

We are incredibly excited to have Dr. Higle as the USC IISE chapter advisor! Dr. Higle is a Viterbi School of Engineering Industrial and Systems Engineering Professor and the Department Chair of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Dr. Higle has served as vice-chair of the INFORMS Section on Optimization, as well as Program Chair for the 10th International Conference on Stochastic Programming. Dr. Higle as has done research on the development of models for decision making under uncertainty and stochastic modeling for health-care applications with a focus on the development of screening strategies for cancer patients.
